Human Papillomavirus
The HPV injection (Gardasil®) is probably one of the most important and significant advances in medicine for women in decades.
This simple injection can vastly reduce the chances of cervical cancer and we avidly encourage all women, between the ages of 9 and 26, to have this injection.

Relief with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is the latest and most effective way to help menopausal women feel normal. Plus, it works to prevent both the symptoms and more serious side effects of menopause, most of which are caused by a lack of estrogen. And recent studies suggest that HRT may prevent Alzheimer's disease. HRT can be customized to your needs. We can prescribe oral tablets, skin patches, or injections. All forms flow through your body and reduce or stop the short-term changes of menopause (hot flashes, insomnia, etc).

Menopause -- Take It Seriously
The more serious effects of menopause are cardiovascular problems, cholesterol problems, and osteoporosis (brittle thinning hones). With B RT, you can can combat these effects easily and effectively.

HRT and Heart Disease
Heart disease occurs in some menopausal women because they are no longer protected from bad cholesterol (LDL). This is the cholesterol that lines the walls of your arteries and blocks the flow of blood to the heart. With HRT, good cholesterol, or HDL is increased. This, in turn, lowers the LDL cholesterol count and keeps your arteries and heart clear. Postmenopausal women who do not take HRT are 2.5 times more likely to develop cardiovascular disease. We want to male sure you're not one of them.

Osteoporosis Prevention
Almost half of all women in the United Slates over the age of 50 experience some stage of osteoporosis. This may explain the high amount of fractures seen in emergency rooms each year. Studies show that if you start HRT early in menopause and continue it for the long term, it can help prevent osteoporosis. (Estrogen slows the loss of bone.) It is very important to start HRT within three years of menopause to get its maximum benefits.

The "Vapors"
Menopause used to be called the "vapors because of its symptoms; hot flashes, fainting, fatigue, night sweats, insomnia, depression, and mood swings. Today, we know that these symptoms are caused by a lack of estrogen. A combination of estrogen and progesterone (for women who have not had a hysterectomy) may alleviate these symptoms, and help you get back to feeling fine. Women who have had a hysterectomy can take estrogen alone (Estrogen Replacement Therapy, or ERT), and receive the same benefits.
